Medical Services Provided In Living Facilities

Our physicians are ready to make “house calls” to residents at selected living facilities, upon request of the patient or a family member. This service ensures that patients with serious or ongoing medical problems receive the level of care they need. Our team of board certified in Geriatrics, nurse practitioners and medical doctors have completed their training in Geriatrics.
How the program works
-
While the patient is in a nursing facility, our medical professionals will provide ongoing care under the supervision of one of our Geriatricians.
- Once the patient is able to leave the nursing facility, our Geriatricians will continue to provide medical care, or the patient can return to their regular primary care doctor.
- If the patient already has medical specialists, our Geriatricians will work with those specialists to make sure the patient gets the best possible care.
- If the patient needs to see a medical specialist, but does not already have one, our Geriatricians will make the arrangements.
- Patients will be referred to the Nix Medical Center for diagnostic testing, x-rays, CT scans and MRI’s. Our physicians will be able to access the results the next day and promptly provide diagnoses and treatment.
- If the patient needs to be admitted to the hospital, our doctors will recommend the Nix Medical Center, their hospital of choice.
